Route that connects Vall de Boí with Vall d'Aran, this port was used a lot in the past as a historical passage for the herds of Ribagorça and the plain of Lleida towards the Vall d'Aran. During the route we will be able to enjoy magnificent views towards the Bessiberri massif with the highest peaks of the national park and numerous lakes and waterfalls.
Once at Ventosa i Calvell refuge (above Estany Negre) we take the path that, from in front of the refuge, goes up towards the N (on the right when leaving the refuge). You pass by the ponds of Travessani and continue uphill in a NE direction until the Clot pond. Shortly afterwards, we take a turnoff to the left that leads to Montardo and Restanca through the Oelhacrestada pass and, immediately after, we pass another lake, this one smaller, on the right. We continue ascending in a NE direction between the base of the Travessani needles, on the right, and the lake of Mangades, on the left, which is sunken, although it can be seen when you arrive near the port of Caldes. Once at the top of the port we will have views towards the Colomers area in the Aran Valley.
