What to do in la Vall de Boí in two days
An ideal weekend
Morning
Visit to Aigüestortes National Park.
You have two options to visit the national park through the Aigüestortes entrance.
On foot from La Palanca de la Molina parking: Take the route of the otter, a moderate-level linear trail that takes approximately 2 hours one way. This route passes by Llebreta lake and Sant Esperit waterfall, ending at Aigüestortes plateau.
- Taxi Service: Alternatively, take a taxi directly to Aigüestortes plateau. From there, you can take an easier route to Estany Llong. On the return, you can visit Aigüestortes plateau and Sant Esperit viewpoint. Ideal for enjoying the park with family!
Afternoon
Visit to Taüll, the Romanesque art, and the village
It's time to visit the World Heritage Romanesque ensemble. You can purchase a combined ticket for the 3 churches, which includes visits to the 3 most representative churches. You can buy the combined ticket at the first church you visit for €7; children under 10 enter for free. Here you can check the schedules.
Therefore, we suggest starting with the church of Sant Climent de Taüll and enjoying its video mapping.
Additionally, you can also visit the church of Santa Maria, which has free admission and is also worth a visit!
Explore the village. Taüll is a certified Charming Village by the Catalan Tourism Agency, so take advantage and enjoy it!
We also recommend visiting the Santeta viewpoint. It's a 10-minute walk with stunning views over the valley!
Morning
Visit the other two churches and stroll to the viewpoints of the valley
Santa Eulàlia d’Erill la Vall. The characteristic feature of this church is its slender bell tower and the sculptural ensemble of the Descent from the Cross. When you exit and directly in front of the Church of Santa Eulàlia, you will see the path that leads to the Tussal Comú viewpoint. It is located at a valley crossroads and offers views towards the ski resort, the villages of Boí, Taüll, and Pla de l’Ermita. To the north, you can see Aigüestortes National Park and the Caldes de Boí spa, and to the west, the small valley formed by the village of Erill la Vall.
Sant Joan de Boí is notable for its set of mural paintings decorating the interior with scenes such as the stoning of Saint Stephen, The Jugglers, and the Bestiary.
We recommend taking a stroll through the village and walking along the Roquetes path, a 20-minute walk. Additionally, if you take the path towards the water, you will find the Boí viewpoint, which is about 15 minutes from the village and well worth the visit!
